A very successful Neighbourhood / Rural Watch display was presented at the recent Small Farms Field Day. Ernie Kerrison, his wife Sharon and friend Mike came up from Lockridge with their comprehensive display and information package.

Ernie and his friends have successfully reduced crime and associated problems in Lockridge to close to zero by door knocking and signing up nearly the whole neighbourhood. Quite an achievement. He is now working on surrounding suburbs and has recently been appointed to assist the State Coordinator of Neighbourhood Watch. Ernie and co very much enjoyed the day at the Gidge Showgrounds.

There will be 132 plants within the drainage channel which cuts near the playground and the remaining 308 plants will be scattered along the river banks. Please bring gloves, mattock, trowel as there are no holes prepared.

Port Bouvard have now presented their Master Plan to some of the community at two information sessions held on 2/3 May 2009. The GPA is now receiving feedback regarding the Plan. People are concerned regarding three main points, and several others as well.

The Gidgegannup community is about to get its say on Port Bouvard’s masterplan for the Gidgegannup townsite. It is understood Port Bouvard is seeking an amendment to the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) for rezoning of a section of the proposed Gidgegannup townsite area.

The Gidgegannup Bulldogs's annual quiz night is planned for Friday, 26th June at the Showgrounds Hall starting at 8pm sharp. $6 per person with tables of six.

Another successful Countryman Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day saw more than 5000 people through the gates to enjoy a day listening to talks, watching demonstrations, visiting the farms, viewing exhibits and enjoying the wonderful array of livestock on display.

The Alpaca sale, part of the Field Day, was extremely successful and we look forward to seeing these beautiful creatures back again next year.

I'm joining thousands of people to Light the Night on 16 September 2009. We'll carry coloured balloons each with a tiny light inside. It will be a beautiful night and with your help we can do something good: raising vital funds for patients and families living with blood cancers, such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
