Progress Association · Questionnaire

If you haven't already done so, please complete our questionnaire. We need your responses to present a fair and balanced view to local and state government as to how our community wish our townsite to develop over the next few years.

Forms are available to download or to complete online at the link below. Or you can pick up a copy at the Newsagents and return to GPA, PO Box 66. Maps of the proposed density are in the notice board outside the Newsagents or you can download them from the link below.

We have had requests for comparisons on population and size of blocks. The present population of the townsite is about 200 people (including the surrounding subdivisions about 1000). The existing homesite 1 acre blocks in the townsite could accommodate about 12 x 300m2 blocks.

Development of the townsite will impact on all of us, so put your view forward. It is your and your children's future.

Survey will close 30th April, 2010. Thank you for your input.

With an interrupted lead up to the fight due to illness he is back training and looking to go one better in his next fight.

WA Department of Environment · Black Cockatoo Recovery Project

Birds Australia WA and Department of Environment and Conservation are currently organising ‘The Great Cocky Count 2010’ on Wednesday the 7th April 2010 and we’re asking for your assistance. In 2006 a snapshot survey of Carnaby’s Black--Cockatoo by Birds Australia found that at least 4,500 birds utilize the Swan Coastal Plain during the non--breeding season. Since the last count we have managed to identify approximately 100 evening roosts that are used by Carnaby’s Black--Cockatoo and we will be attempting to survey every one of these in the 2010 count. What we need is for volunteers from all across Perth and the wider metropolitan area to survey a chosen evening roost and count the number of birds using the particular site for approximately an hour around dusk on Wednesday the 7th of April. You will be provided with a pack that will include, amongst other things, detailed instructions and a data sheet on which to record your observations. To reach our goal of counting every Carnaby’s Black--Cockatoo roost we will need as many volunteers as possible so please feel free to spread the word. As well as The Great Cocky Count we also have an on--going monitoring program for which we are also looking for volunteers so if you are interested in being involved, would like more information or have some information regarding Carnaby’s Black--Cockatoo that may help us, please contact Quinton Burnham via email or phone. Thank you. (e) q.burnham@ecu.edu.au (m) 0428 762 292
