As usual the Society is short of helpers for the Show. Friday 28 October, from when Hall exhibits are accepted for judging, and following the judging is when we are always short of assistance. This year the Society, other Showgrounds User Groups and the City of Swan has been the target of strong criticism by a section within the community. Not only has criticism been directed at the Society as an entity but at individuals within the organisation. The latter is totally unacceptable. Below are some facts that may be unknown or may have been misrepresented to the wider community and beyond.
Hope to see you on Saturday, 29th October for our 70th Anniversary Show.

Volunteers are an important part of our community. This year, the City of Swan's Rural Place team would like to partner with your community organisation to reward and recognise the contribution your volunteers make.
Thank a Volunteer Day is an annual day of celebration taking place on December 5. We know it's a while off yet, but if you're planning on hosting an event you may need some time to prepare.
Support is available to community organisations to celebrate the work of their volunteers. No event is too big or too small! Some ideas include a morning tea, a family fun day, an excursion or an award ceremony.
To apply for a partnership go to surveymonkey.com
Applications close on Thursday 29 September 2016.
