The 70th Anniversary Gidgegannup Agricultural Show is now only a month away and the Show Committee is putting the finishing touches to what should be a memorable show.
Chief Ground Steward, Steve Williamson reports that there will be over 200 stalls at this year's show and the number of trade stalls is much bigger than in previous years.
Agricultural Society President, Colin Metcalf says this year's show is a major milestone in the in the history of the society.
“When you think of the humble beginnings and the dedication of those members who started the show after World War 2 and all the hard work that has taken place in the intervening years up until 2016 you can see why it is such a popular show. In those early days the locals rallied round to make the Gidge Show a success and their efforts and the subsequent efforts of members means that we now attract many thousands of showgoers, not only from around the district but from many parts of the Metropolitan area”.
Entries for the Hall exhibits have already started to roll in with many coming in by email this year. We look forward to seeing you at our 70th Anniversary Show on Saturday October 29th.
