The Swan Valley Progress Association (SVPA) in partnership with the Henley Brook Locality Group (HBLG) and Henley Brook Rural Watch network in the Swan Valley (HBRW) and with support from the Gidgegannup Progress Association (GPA) made the joint decision to:
  • To Raise the profile of the equine industry and horse recreation to the City of Swan, and

12/07/2006 · Gidge Primary School · Planting Busy Bee

On Friday the 2nd June Gidgegannup Primary students year 1 to year 7 went down on the bus at 11.40 to go to Timbertop Reserve to plant some plants and mulch for 40 minutes to help the environment. Some of the plants were; rushes, white myrtle, sedges and other interesting shrubs. The students got off the bus. They were surprised that there was no plants in the reserve.

Some people did mulching and others planted some plants in the mud, only the people who had old gum boots on. After 40 minutes we had to step in this old tray with water in it and it was rubbery. We had to step in to it a couple of times and then we had to get on a dry towel. We had to do it because of dieback. Then we got on the bus to go back to school. We were all fascinated how much plants we planted.

07/07/2006 · Council Corner · Retrospective Approvals

Council is having to decide on an increasing number of planning applications which are lodged for Retrospective Approval. This results in more work for the Planning Officers and anxiety for those applying for the approval, as to whether they will be allowed to retain the feature applied for. It can also in the worst case result in fines for the applicant.

Before building or excavating any development ring up the City and ask if this complies with Policies/Guidelines and for their assistance. You can then get advice that could save you a lot of time and money.
