27/10/2007 · Kookaburra Cinema · Season 12 starts 16 November

Kookaburra is a hive of activity getting ready for Season 12 which will commence on Friday Nov 16th with an Australian movie titled "Clubland". Stars: Brenda Blethyn, Frankie J Holden and the brilliant young WA actress Emma Booth. "Clubland" is Rated M.

Since the start of Kookaburra we have only ever been able to offer instant coffee. For a while I have been looking at the various types of machines available that can do a better coffee.

There is now available a rather neat machine that allows push button selection of a range of different "brews" and automatically grinds the beans. It does however come at a cost and Kookaburra needs to increase the coffee/hot chocolate sales to be able to justify the deal.

What are your thoughts??? Would a better coffee tempt you, or am I wasting my time thinking about this?

21/10/2007 · State Government · Water Forever

Water Forever is a strategy for Perth and the surrounding areas to secure water and wastewater service delivery up to 2050.

The Water Corporation is already working hard to ensure there is enough water for Perth and our environment, even in a drying climate. But we are also asking for our customer’s input into how we can keep improving the way we use and manage our water.

Step 1 - Get Involved - Register your interest (see link below). Registrants will be invited to participate in online surveys and will be sent information on how we conserve, create and connect.

Step 2 - Have your say - In 2008 community forums will be held to discuss the many issues and options for water services.

Step 3 - Planning for our Future - From these surveys and discussions the Water Corporation will develop a draft plan by late 2008. This will be presented to the community for further comment.

Step 4 - Water Forever - In mid 2009 a final Water Forever plan will be released outlining how we will meet the needs of our customers for the next 50 years.

The forum is your opportunity to give your views and discuss the road safety options being put forward for 2008-2020.

Your local community forum will be held at Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, Perth on Monday, 5th November 2007. To register your attendance phone 1300 369 809 by Monday, 29th October. Anyone unable to attend may view and comment on a discussion paper available online (see link below).
