The Community Website is now able to offer residents and ratepayers the opportunity to put classified ads online in the categories For Sale, Wanted, Swap, and Hire (more categories as need arises). You can even upload one photo with each ad.

This website is a collective effort by many members of our community. As editors our aim is to keep all information relevant, up-to-date and correct. You can help us achieve this in several ways.

If your community group's page needs any updates, please contact your committee and they can send us the relevant information. For advertising, broken links and all other suggestions, please contact us directly at the email address below.

This website is run on a tight budget. New pages and services like the online forum and online ads are kindly supported by the City of Swan and the EMRC.

Recurring costs like hosting and maintenance are partially covered by the welcome support of local businesses (advertising) and some community groups (yearly donations).

Now all local residents have the opportunity to support their community website by making an online donation. To do so click the button below.

Gidgy Cricket is off to a pretty good start with three wins from five games so far.

We've got Parkerville at Percy Cullen this Sunday, starting at midday. There is cold beverages for sale and it's free entertainment so come down and have a look. You might just enjoy it.

This survey has been conceived and developed by the Gidgegannup Progress Association (GPA).

The aim is to establish what the “Hills Lifestyle” is. The “Hills Lifestyle” is to be protected under several governing documents, including the North Eastern Hills Settlement Pattern Plan and the Gidgegannup Rural Strategy.

A shortfall in these documents is that the “Hills Lifestyle” has not been defined, and hence, the GPA commissioned this survey to establish an accurate definition and description.

"Buy West, Eat Best" is a new campaign being promoted by the WA Department of Agriculture and Food.

Some Experience Gidgegannup members may qualify to be a part of this program which seems to be heavily supported by government.

The Gidgegannup service will run but only for Guildford Grammar. Unfortunately the other schools we planned to service showed a lack of interest in offering this service to their students/parents. Only Guildford Grammar were prepared to commit to numbers and we have since agreed a dedicated service for them for 2008.

Green Corps – Young Australians for the Environment – is an Australian Government youth development and environmental training programme for young people aged between 17 and 20 years. Green Corps provides young people with the opportunity to volunteer their time and effort to conserve, preserve and restore Australia’s natural environment and cultural heritage.

The Annual Meeting of Electors of the City of Swan for the 2006/07 financial year will be held on Wednesday, 5th December, 2007 in the Council Chambers, Midland Town Hall commencing at 5.30 pm.

The order of business is as follows:
1. Annual Report for 2006/07 including the Auditors' Report
2. General Business

It is anticipated that the Annual Report will be available on the City's website (see link below) and available for inspection at the Administration Centre, 2 Midland Square, Midland on Wednesday, 28 November, 2007 and at all City Libraries from Friday, 30 November, 2007.
