EASTERN METROPOLITAN REGIONAL COUNCIL

EMRC (Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council) works on behalf of six member Council government authorities - the: Town of Bassendean, City of Bayswater, City of Belmont, Shire of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring, City of Swan to deliver services within Perth’s eastern region.

The EMRC's vision is to make Perth’s Eastern Region a great place to work, live play and do business.  They aim to do this by working with the member Councils to provide professional and innovative services and programs to the reigion.

When EMRC was constituted in November 1983, the original function was to provide waste management and disposal services.  This was extended to include risk management services in 1987, environmental services in 1993 and regional development services in 1998.

Today EMRC provides a varied yet interrelated range of services, in partnership with the member Councils, designed to enhance the region, maximise its numerous natural features, and provide the highest possible quality of life for the people who live in or visit it.
